The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde
The Last Dragonslayer is labeled YA. Adults should ignore this YA label because the book is an enjoyable story for everyone.
Jennifer Strange is the protagonist and she is sixteen (almost). She runs a company that rents out wizards. She runs the company because the man in charge has disappeared. Over the length of a week, Jennifer gets involved with a dragon (the last one), powerful marketing companies, the king, a hotshot radio interviewer, and an old crotchety sorceress.
The book is shorter than most Fforde novels and the plot doesn’t have the eye-crossing plot complications of his other novels but it still is a great story and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good read whether you are a YA or an adult
